Our aim is to provide a relaxing break away, where friendly service and time for conversation Is the norm. A hotel that does not copy or reflect modern fleeting trends, yet offers a haven for relaxation, fine simple foods from a classical English menu cooked well and served with pride.

Situated, By the Sea, on the West Cliff, Hotel Riviera offers stunning panoramic sea views from almost every room and yet it is just a ten-minute walk into Bournemouth town centre. Bournemouth beach is an award winning 7-mile stretch of golden sand that can be accessed directly from the hotel via the famous zig-zag path that was originally constructed back in the 1920’s; or seasonally, you can always take one of the few remaining cliff top lifts escorting you from cliff top to sandy promenade in a moment. Passing the familiar sight of seaside beach huts, you can stroll towards the pier or change direction and walk along the sandy shore line towards Sandbanks.

A cosy traditional hotel, noted for its old style comfort, a hotel for those who prefer a slightly more gentle pace of life and where the solo traveller is made to feel ‘at home’. A place, where a game of draughts is understood not to mean to avoid a chilly breeze! A modern boutique hotel this is not, yet Gary & Teresa will do all they can to give you a ‘stay-a-away’ of happy memories and good times.

A trip into Bournemouth has to include a visit to the beautiful Grade II listed Victorian gardens. The lower, central and upper gardens offer a stunning array of colour and interest. The award winning lower garden is host to many free events all year round and it is here you can enjoy one of the country’s largest rockeries, take a pine walk and enjoy natural beautiful scenery. Not far away is Boscombe’s Tropical Gardens, originating back to the 1920’s it is home to a haven of unusual plants. You can choose to take the short car or bus journey into the New Forest, pack a picnic and enjoy walking or cycling as you spot the many New Forest ponies roaming this wonderful National Park.

On returning to the hotel after your day of leisure, take a moment to enjoy our own award winning private garden not forgetting to say hello to our resident robin, ‘John’ who is always busy looking for a stray crumb and drink tea on our balcony overlooking the sea; or if the sun is over the yardarm then sip a Gin & Tonic in our bar or lounge, both with beautiful sea views.
